Labrie Environmental Group Claude Boivin
President
claude.boivin@labriegroup.com

Claude Boivin is highly respected by his industry peers, not only for his entrepreneurial spirit, but for his visionary insight demonstrated through his ingenious contributions to waste management product development.

He joined Labrie, then a heavy-vehicle distributorship, at a young age in 1965; subsequently acquiring the company in 1971 when it housed fewer than ten employees. In 1977 Mr. Boivin introduced side-loading vehicles to the distributorship. His in-depth market knowledge and continuous drive to bring improvements to the products he represented led him in 1985 to launch Labrie’s own brand of side-loading vehicle; the Expert 2000, which went on to become the benchmark for side-loaders.

He consequently guided the company to manufacture the first manual side-loading recycling truck 1986, which was promptly enhanced to become, in 1987, the Top Select™, the first of Labrie’s patents.

His achievements go on to include in 1992, the design and manufacture of the Top Select Maximizer™, also patented; the Expert 2000™ which literally revolutionized lateral collection; and in 1996 the Expert 2000 Cool Hand™, the automated version of the Expert 2000™ line.

Claude Boivin, always seeking to improve and innovate, then went on to manufacturer the Optimizer™ 1998, a commercial front-loading truck; the Automizer™ in 2000, a fully-automated, straight-frame, side-loading vehicle and, in 2001, the Automizer Co-mingle™ - a split-body, co-collection vehicle which feature his patented hydraulic chute system.

His perseverance and dedication to research and innovation have built Labrie to what it is today, a 400-plus, employee-strong enterprise, recognized for manufacturing the best waste management equipment in the industry.
